Allen/Cullen Center Energy Study
Houston, Texas

Allen Center complex, located in downtown
Houston, contains more than 4M-sf of rentable floor space, and consists of a 20-story hotel and five (5) other buildings ranging from 32-50 stories. The complex’s central plant facilities serve Allen Center and Cullen Center, a six-building development that includes the headquarters for Continental Airlines.

ATI was commissioned by Enershop, a subsidiary of Central and South West Corporation, to provide an energy analysis outlining proposed energy saving measures and projected savings for the central plants and airside distribution systems serving the Allen/Cullen Center buildings. Proposed measures include high efficiency chiller replacement and optimization (over 13,500 tons of cooling), variable speed primary pumping, secondary/tertiary pumping schemes, domestic water pumping, and DDC control modifications.
