Menger Hotel

The Menger Hotel opened in 1859 in the Alamo Plaza in San Antonio, Texas. Since it’s inception, The Menger has served as a center of activity for the city, and has changed as the city changed. Periodic additions and remodeling began the year the hotel opened, and have continued to the present day.
In a recent remodel, ATI provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the modernization and upgrade of HVAC systems for the guest rooms to allow The Menger to be competitive with the newer hotels in San Antonio. For this design/build project, ATI provided design in close coordination with the mechanical and electrical contractors contracted directly with the owner.
Working within the constraints of an important historic building is demanding, yet gratifying. Particular attention was focused on equipment size and location to minimize interference with the existing building architectural and artisan features.
