The Pennsylvania Refining Company, or Penreco, became a partnership between Pennzoil Quaker State and Conoco Inc in October 1997. Recently, Penreco relocated its perfume and fragrance development lab to the Venture Technology Center in The Woodlands, TX.
The 15K-sf research and development facility includes four (4) separate lab areas, and 11K-sf support office space. Lab exhaust and make-up air are controlled to maintain continuous pressure differential between each lab and the surrounding spaces. The critical lab exhaust systems are connected to emergency power to provide safe ventilation during power outages. Laboratory piping systems include oxygen, nitrogen, air, and de-ionized water.
